ABOUT GOD'S SITTING PARTNERS

Hey, my name is Quteria Bryant. I was born and raised in Birmingham, AL. As a child, I always had a desire to help people. Everywhere I went I found myself always helping someone in some type of way. Whether it was helping them cross the street, look for things in the store, or whatever their need was, and it felt so good. At the age of 16 years old, I asked my mom to buy me something, and at that moment what I was asking for wasn’t old enough to get it. So, she told me I would have to pay for it myself. So, I got the newspaper and started looking for a job. I came across a caregiver ad in the paper for an 88-year-old lady. I called her and she hired me. It was my first job and the first job doing that type of work. Everything was so new to me, but each day I got better and better. That client and I developed a friendship that was so wonderful. After I graduated from high school, I sought employment in the healthcare field where my desire for taking care of people in need and the elderly became a burning passion. I knew that this was my calling from God, and this is what he wanted me to do.

I now have over 15 years of experience caring for the elderly. I received my Healthcare Administration degree in 2016. As I continued sitting with clients, people would always say “Q” you should be a nurse, but I always felt like I was not called to be a nurse. I needed to be out in the community helping those who couldn’t be or chose not to be in long-term care facilities or nursing homes. As I sat with more clients, I started getting referrals to other families who were someone to come into their homes and care for their loved ones.

As time passed, I said this is it, I knew I wanted to start my own home care business because this was my purpose so that’s what I did. The name of my business, God’s Sitting Partners, was simple yet shared who I represented. Caring for Gods children’s is what I do. My staff and I are committed and passionate about what we do, and one thing that you will love about us is that we don’t see you as a client or patient, but as FAMILY because that’s who you are and we look forward to serving you with love and care.

God’s Sitting Partners was established in 2019. I have always had the dream to start a home care service business but was unsure if I should. As I contemplated starting a home care business, I enjoyed caring for a dear patient, by the name of Mr. Sam Lowery, for over a year and a half. Then, on a weekend while caring for Mr. Lowery, we were sitting in the living room and he said, “Q, it’s time.” I asked, “Time for what?” He answered by saying, “It’s time for you to do what you have always wanted to do. Start your home care business.” While what he said was true, I was extremely nervous. He suggested that I start slowly and just pass out business cards. But I hadn’t come up with an official business name. We both put our minds together and agreed with the name, God’s Sitting Partners.

After a couple of months passed, and while I began to become comfortable with the idea of starting a business and his amazing advice, Mr. Lowery died unexpectedly. As a result, the anxiety of starting God’s Sitting Partners increased because I no longer had him here to motivate me and show me how to get this business off the ground floor. But I got myself together and continued to remind myself that Mr. Lowery wanted this for me, and I did not want to let him down. With this purpose in mind, I get up and give my all to God’s Sitting Partners every day with the thought of Mr. Lowery and his motivating words on my mind. I am so very grateful for him and his motivating me to step out on faith.
